Dr Edwin Cuppen graduated cum laude at the University of Wageningen in 1994 and finished his PhD at the University of Nijmegen in 1999. he received a prestigious European Young Investigators Award in 2005 for his research on 'Natural and induced genetic variation in laboratory rats'. In 2006, he co-founded InteRNA Technologies BV, which focusses on the use of miRNAs as diagnostic and therapeutic tools and in 2007, he established, together with Eugene Berezikov, InteRNA Genomics B.V., which provides bioinformatic solutions for small RNA research.
